About Me

Namaste and welcome to my website.

I’m a fortunate student of various divine art forms including music and have experienced the warmth, rigor and authenticity of Gurumukhi Vidya. I consider it my noble responsibility to pass on such vidya to others in these changing and challenging times. That is why I recently chose to exit corporate America to take up my responsibility.

My lifelong journey in music began with Smt. Miriyala Suhasini garu in Hyderabad. Later, Smt. Lakshmi Subrahmanyam garu has laid a strong foundation for what’s to come in the future. ‘Sangeetacharya’ Dr. Sri Vyzarsu Balasubrahmanyam garu has shaped a lot of that future and transformed me into a dedicated learner of Carnatic music.

When I moved to Virginia more than a decade ago, I have had the fortune of getting associated with Sri Vinjamuri Subhash garu, whose affectionate mentorship has helped me appreciate the depths of the ocean we call music and, equally importantly, has helped me understand the difference between a guru and a teacher. Further, his son, Vidwan chi. Kamalakiran, a powerhouse of knowledge, epitome of humility and a master of his craft, has been a constant source of pride, inspiration and guidance for me.

Now, on to the other half of my story – Light Music: Every aspect of my journey in the world of Light Music has been touched, shaped and influenced by Sri Komanduri Ramachary garu. Besides being a well-known singer, composer, music teacher and founder of the Little Musicians Academy – an incubator for all the singing talent in the Telugu states now, he is also a great human being. His influence on me stretches beyond music and shaped how I look at the world, at large. Under his tutelage, I have performed on countless stages in India including several with sri S. P. Balasubrahmanyam garu and R. P. Patnayak garu.

I am forever thankful to all my teachers and gurus and what I am doing as a teacher is nothing but continuing to learn and thus pay my Gurudakshina to them.

Apart from learning and teaching music, I actively participate in various classical music festivals in the region and, sparingly, provide vocal support for classical dance ballets as well.

Besides music, I enjoy anchoring as well. Before moving to the US, I had worked as an anchor in various Telugu TV channels such as TV9, Gemini and ETV in Hyderabad.
